Mobile Planer Station

I built this planer station to make it easier to wheel around a 80lbs thickness planer in limited workspace. It is based largely on a plan available from Plans Now, although I had to tweak it a little bit to accommodate my new DeWalt planer with its longer outfeed tray. The station rests on top of two sawhorses when in use, and has 3″ fixed coaster wheels under the heavy end to make it very easy to roll around. There are also couple of rubber bumpers at the very end of the table to securely park it in place when upright. (more…)

Tapering Jig

This jig is based on a similar jig built by Norm Abram on his TV show, New Yankee Workshop. It slides along the fence and provides excellent support for tapering long pieces like table legs. It also taught me a thing or two about handling aluminum. (more…)

Shelf Pin Hole Jig

This jig is based on a similar jig built by Norm Abram on his TV show, New Yankee Workshop. It is built for a plunge router using 1/2″ collar and 1/4″ spiral cut plunge bit. I used the 1/2″ collar because I didn’t have the same size Forstner bit that Norm used in his version. The index plug is a 1/4″ cotter pin. (more…)

Box Joint Jig
