This jig is based on a similar jig built by Norm Abram on his TV show, New Yankee Workshop. It slides in the miter gauge slot and provides excellent support for larger and/or longer pieces. My version adds a T-track embedded on top of the back railing for adding hold-downs or stop blocks for repetitive cuts.
The jig is made of 1/2″ birch plywood with a 3/4″ poplar strip for the back railing as well as for the miter gauge guide. It came in very handy when building the loft bed project.
