Crib

This project was a slightly modified version of the Heirloom Crib project plan available from Plans Now. I modified the headboards for a more round look for better match with other furniture in the house, plus I added lockable plastic wheels under the posts. I was under a great deal of schedule pressure to finish this project before our first child was born in 1998, but it turned out OK and more importantly on time. It also taught me the importance of powerful tools as my then-cheesy tools nearly choked on the hard maple.

The crib was made of clear maple treated with clear Minwax Wood Finish and two coats of clear satin Minwax Polyurethane. The hardware parts are from a kit offered by Plans Now.
